NEWS two industrial business areas Strategic Industries, and Regional Sales and Service. SKF says the change enables the benefits of its asset life cycle to be applied to industrial customers in a more efficient manner, through a simplified organisational structure. It will also strengthen the company’s focus on organic growth and profitability, supporting the group’s financial targets. SKF now operates through three business areas: Industrial Market, Automotive Market and Speciality Business. According to the firm, the new, simplified organisational structure is the logical next step in its development and will strengthen its customer focus. It will also better enable it to meet the changing demands of the market place. It will be able to more effectively support customers in each industry, throughout the asset life cycle, reinforcing its focus on application-driven innovation. Alrik Danielson, President and CEO, SKF (from 1 January 2015), has also taken up the role of President, Industrial Market. Commenting on the announcement, he said: ‘The Industrial Market business area represents approximately two-thirds of our total sales and a significant part of our profits. EnPro Industries acquires Fabrico

nPro Industries Inc, which specialises in sealing products, metal polymer and filament-wound bearings, components and services for reciprocating compressors, diesel and dualfuel engines and other engineered products, has acquired Fabrico Inc, a privately-held company offering highly engineered products to the land-based turbine (LBT) industry. Fabrico will become part of EnPro’s Technetics Group, a major supplier of high-performance sealing and other products to the aerospace, semiconductor, power-generating, and oil and gas markets. The business was acquired in a cash transaction from Fabrico Holding Co Llc, a portfolio company of Prudential Capital Partners III Lp. Terms were not disclosed. 6

Fabrico, based in Oxford, Massachusetts, USA – with additional facilities in Charlton, Massachusetts and Greenville, South Carolina, supplies mission-critical components for the combustion and hot path sections of industrial gas and steam turbines. EnPro says the addition of Fabrico significantly expands Technetics Group’s presence and scale in the LBT market and positions it to become the seal and combustion leader. The company also brings a highly-skilled workforce of approximately 165 employees. We welcome the Fabrico team to EnPro and Technetics Group, and look forward to the benefits this business combination will afford our customers and employees.’ Separately, EnPro announced it has completed the sale of its GRT business unit to GRT Rubber Technologies Llc, a newly formed business funded by an investor group led by Main Street Capital Corp. GRT, with a single manufacturing facility in Paragould, Arkansas, manufactures and sells conveyor belts and sheet rubber for many applications across a diversified array of end markets. The business was sold in an all-cash transaction at a price of $44 million. GRT’s management team will continue to manage the business under the new ownership. Workshops focus on calculation of bolted flanged joints

mtec Messtechnischer Service GmbH is running a series of workshops in Lauffen, Germany, under the theme ‘Calculation of bolted flanged joints according to the European standard EN 1591-1 and the nuclear codes KTA 3201.2 and KTA 3211.2’. Each workshop, presented in English and German, covers theoretical principles – function of bolted flanged joints, status of standardisation, gasket parameters and calculation standards, and also provides user training – structure of the software, databases, example calculations and practical application of the company’s software. The events are targeted at design and simulation engineers, employees of standardisation departments and safety specialists from companies in the chemicals and petrochemicals sectors, power plants and nuclear power industry, and involved in piping, accessory and fittings construction. There are several dates available. The workshops being held on 9 & 10 March and 14 & 15 September 2015, will be in English, whilst those taking place on 4 & 5 March and 16 & 17 September 2015 will be in German.
