GLV brands water businesses as Ovivo GLV Inc has merged its water businesses under one global brand name – Ovivo. The Ovivo brand, built around the Latin word for life, is the result of a nine-month review following GLV’s acquisition of Christ Water Technology last year. Heritage brands now under Ovivo include AJM Environmental Services, Brackett Green, Caird & Rayner Clark, Copa, Christ Water Technology, Aqua Engineering, Goema, H2 Oil&Gas, Kennicott, UT&S, Eimco Water Technologies, Enviroquip, Jones + Attwood, E Tomkinson & Co, Aquator, Tepro and Innoterv. Meanwhile Richard Verreault has taken over from his father Laurent Verreault as president and chief executive officer (CEO) of GLV Inc. Laurent Verreault has been named

New head of Siemens Water Technologies Dr Lukas Loeffler (52) has taken charge of Siemens Water Technologies, following Chuck Gordon’s move to Heckmann Corp as president and chief operating officer (COO). “Lukas Loeffler has extensive technical experience and great integrative capability,” said Jens Wegmann, CEO of Siemens
Industry Solutions. “His expertise will help him to continue strengthening our position in the international water business.” Since 2005, Dr Loeffler has headed up Siemens’ Infrastructure Logistics business unit, based in Arlington, Texas.

Met-Pro acquires Bio-Reaction Industries Met-Pro Corp has bought almost all of the assets including the patents and technology of Bio-Reaction Industries LLC, a Tualatin, Oregon-based company that designs and manufactures biological air pollution control systems that use microbes to digest industrial and municipal pollutants and to eliminate odours. Raymond De Hont, Met-Pro chairman and CEO, said that the acquisition of Bio-Reaction Industries significantly enhances Met-Pro’s competitive position in both the municipal and industrial global markets by providing not only state-of-the-

Freudenberg, Thermax form filtration partnership in India Freudenberg Filtration Technologies has formed a partnership with Thermax, an Indian energy and environmental technology company to jointly offer filtration and cooling solutions for large gas turbines and compressors for the energy, petrochemical, iron, steel and other sectors. Thermax and Freudenberg Filtration Technologies have developed a new system
– Viledon eee.Sy (energy efficiency enhancement system) – that cools the intake air of a turbine up to 15°C allowing an improvement of up to 25% in energy efficiency and reducing CO2 emissions.
