22—25 July 1974 International Conference on Lattice Defects in Semiconductors. The 1974 International Conference on Lattice Defects in Semiconductors will be held in Freiburg, Fed. Rep. Germany. It will cover all aspects of lattice defects in semiconductors (i.e.. point defects and dislocations), their generation, motion, and interaction, and their influence on the properties of semiconductor materials. Contributions concerning diffusion and ion-implantation in semiconductors will also be included where it is clear that these contributions are relevant to the basic science of lattice defects in semiconductors. Information: Dr. A. Rauber, Institut fur Angewandte Fesikorperphysik, D-7800 Freiburg, Eckerstrasse 4, Fed. Rep. Germany.
Dr. C. Kunz, DESY, D-2000 Hamburg 52, Notkestieg 1, Federal Republic of Germany. For further information see Solid State Commun. Vol. 14, No. 5 pp. iii—iv.
29 July—9 August 1974 Physics of Structurally Disordered Solids. A NATO Advanced Study Institute on this topic will be held at the University of Rhode Island, Kingston. R.I., 29 July to 9 August, 1974. Some forty invited lectures are planned. Lecture courses will cover such topics as mechanisms of growth, models for the amorphous state, optical properties, electronic band structure, transport lattice dynamics and infrared and Raman properties, spectra, chalcogenide and other non-tetrahedrally bonded glasses, and liquid semiconductors. One day will be devoted to short contributed representations of new theoretical and experimental results.
