he Executive Committee of the National Board of PNl?/As met in May 1987. New officers were elected for 2-year terms; included were Robert L. Lederer, MD, FAL$P, AAP representative, President; Marion H. Baker, RN, CPNP, NAPNAP representative, Vice-President; and Linda S. Gilman, RN, CPNA, .MN, AFPNA/PP representative, Secretary/Treasurer. The National Board’s Task Force on Pediatric Nursing has been formed, with the first meeting scheduled for September 1987. This meeting is funded in part by Gerber Products, Mead-Johnson Nutritional Division, and Ross Laboratories. Members of the task force are Dori Biester, RN, MS, Eileen Sporing, RN, MSN, Kathy Greco, RN, MSN, Donna L. Wang, RN, PNP, MN, Jean Francis, RN, PNP, MS, Virginia. Millonig, RN, PhD, Sally Valentine, RN, MSN, and Jean Moore, RN, PhD.

The primary responsibility of the task force will be to develop a task/content outline for general pediatric nursing, which will serve as the basis for a National Certification process. Development of an examination is estimated to take 2% years, setting the first offering date in mid-1990. The National Board’s central office has moved.
