These Visiting Professorships have been awarded to meet a variety of needs, such as clinical teaching, strengthening of scientific and research programs, departmental development and organization, and social or community pediatrics. The Professorships are available to pediatric departments of medical schools in the United States and Canada, and to pediatric institutions with approved residency programs which are unaffiliated with medical schools. Each Lectureship is for a period of one week, of which two days are often reserved for travel by the Visiting Lecturer. The Foundation assumes financial responsibility for all expenses: travel, living expenses, and

an honorarium. These are handled by the Foundation directly with each Visiting Professor. Announcements regarding the 1969 program, together with application blanks, will be distributed shortly to eligible departments. Additional inquiries concerning Lectureships may be made to: Dr. Lee Forrest Hill, President The Journal of Pediatrics Educational Foundation 3232 John Lynde Road Des Moines, Iowa, 50312 Completed applications should be submitted before January 31, 1969.
