Meetings of the Metropolitan Branch Council and Branch took place on June 14th, 1935, under the chairmanship of the President. At the Branch meeting, twenty-seven members and three visitors were present. As a reference from the Council the Branch considered and decided to accept an invitation from Messrs. Evan Sons, Lescher and Webb, Ltd., for the members to visit the firm's laboratories in Cheshire, and it was left to the Han. Secretary to arrange details. A discussion on "Diphtheria Immunisation," was opened by Dr. James Fenton (Kensington), and Dr. H. A. Bulman (St. Marylebone). Drs. Struthers, Radford, Goodall, Dart, Rawlinson, Bousfield, Forbes and the President also took part.

The annual meeting of this Branch was held at the Guildhall, York, on June 28th, 1935. The President occupied the chair and was supported by ten members and a number of guests. A letter was submitted from the Central Council for Health Education, suggesting that the Branch might hold a meeting in York on October 7th, the opening day of the York Health Week Exhibition, and it was agreed that a special meeting be held on that day. The President reported that he had been asked to arrange for a joint meeting at Bamsley with the Royal Sanitary Institute. This was agreed to, and it was left to the President, the President-elect and the Han. Secretary to make the necessary arrangements. The President also reported that the Council had appointed Drs. T. N. V. Potts and R. L. Thornley as Hon. Auditors for the ensuing session . Drs. T. N. V. Potts and J. Mair were elected representatives of the Branch on the Council of the Society, and Drs. Tattersall and Vallow representatives on the Tuberculosis Group Committee. It was reported that Dr. E. E. S. 1. Galbraith,

Senior Assistant School Medical Officer, City of York, was shortly retiring, and it was resolved that the Council of the Society be recommended to appoint Dr. Galbraith, who has been a Fellow of the Society for 27 years, a fully-paid life member. The members then proceeded to the York Museum, and after being shown round the Museum and St. Mary's Abbey by Dr . Collinge, visited the Mansion House where they were shown the City plate and afterwards entertained at tea by the Lord Mayor. A very cordial vote of thanks was, on the proposal of Dr. Jervis, accorded to the Lord Mayor for his hospitality.

The annual meeting of this Branch was held at the Isolation Hospital, WalsaIl, on June 27th, 1935, the President occupying the chair. Fifteen members were present. Apologies for unavoidable absence were received from sixty-three members. A letter was read from Dr. D'Arcy Ellis, thanking the Branch for their kind expression of sympathy at his recent bereavement. The Han. Secretary announced that the Annual Dinner of the Society would be held on Friday, November 22nd, 1935, and it was hoped that as many members as possible would attend to do honour to Sir George Newman who would be the principal guest.
