The Helmholtz Zentrum München is pleased to announcethe18thInternationalConferenceonSolid State Dosimetry, SSD18, which will be held in Munich, Germany, 3–8 July 2016. SSD18 aims at bringingtogetherinnovativescientistswithindustrial experts,futureusers andrepresentativesofgovernmentalauthoritiesina commonforumandamotivatingatmosphere. The series of SSD conferences started in 1965 at Stanford University, USA, and since then has expanded its initial scope from fundamental physics of luminescence dosimetry to the current broad variety of developments of detectors, methods and instrumentation to be applied in radiation physics,individualandenvironmentalmonitoring,clinicaldosimetry,datinganddosereconstruction. As is now a wellͲreceived tradition, a threeͲday school on solid state dosimetry, the Marko Moscovitch School, will be offered in the week before the conference. The school is intended for scientistswhoarenewtothefieldandforthosewhowouldliketodeepentheirknowledge.Lectures willbegivenbyleadinginternationalexpertsinsolidstatedosimetry.
