Professional body language, community involvement, intravenous admixtures, leadership training, understanding human behavior, acupuncture and VD awareness are some of the topics which SAPhA is offering its participants at the New York meeting. Combined with the above topics will be keynote speakers, general sessions and committee reports-all adding up to one of the most exciting SAPhA meetings ever. The four-day meeting opens Thursday, May 12, with briefing sessions for the eight SAPhA regions. The first of three general sessions is scheduled for Thursday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. The addresses of SAPhA President Barbara Treadwell and Executive Secretary Steven W. Skalisky are on the agenda. On Thursday evening, "Understanding and Predicting Human Behavior," pre-
sentation cosponsored by The Upjohn Company, will be given by Fred Pryor of Resource Associates. Friday, May 13, an Intravenous Admixture Workshop, which proved to be popular at last year's meeting in New Orleans, will again be cosponsored by Travenol Laboratories. Clifton Latiolais, Director of the Department of Pharmacy at the Ohio State University Hospitals, will preside. The second part of this workshop will be on Saturday morning, May 14. Seven other workshops on May ·13 will examine membership services, skilled nursing facilities, community health services, IPSF affairs, building a successful SAPh-A chapter, acupuncture, cosponsored by Roerig Division, Pfizer, Inc; community involvement, with Donald J. Wernik, community pharmacist and Mayor of Metuchen, New Jersey, presiding, and venereal disease awareness, with Howard Mirsky, Executive Director of the Citizens Alliance for VD Awareness, presiding. The clinical pharmacist as a primary care provider, clinical pharmacy services in a triage clinic, pharmacy services in a federal extended care facility, drug utilization review in a VA outpatient clinicthese and many more subjects of interest to pharmacists practicing in the federal sector will be a part of this information-packed program scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday mornings in the Americana Hotel. 1977 Exhibit Program All disciplines and specialties of pharmacy will find something new and useful for their practice in the wealth of information, products and services displayed in the technical and scientific exhibits. The exhibitors are prepared and willing to provide you with the facts you are seeking and to answer your questions. This year the hours of the exhibits have been adjusted so that you can visit them before the majority of sessions begin as well as between sessions. The exhibits will be located in the Rhinelander Gallery of the New York Hilton Hotel, adjacent to the APhA Registration area, and wiJI be open Sunday, May 15, from 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m.; Monday, May 16, and Tuesday, May 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and Wednesday, May 18, from 9:30a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The exhibits are an integral part of the APhA Annual Meeting and there is much that can be gained by visiting them.
