H ere pharma cist s williearn--through a dramatic tri-dimensional form-what many scientist s, institutions, ma nufa cturers and service fi rms have contributed to t he advancement of pharmacy a nd the constant betterment of health in America. T he APHA exhibit is the showcase fo r some of the more im por tant contributions in pharmaceutical progress. All members of the profession are invited a nd urged t o visit frequently the scientific and technical exhibits to review the old a nd uncover what's new in pharmacy . The demonstrators are well quali fied to answer your questions a nd su pply fa cts. The exhi bit s will open M onday, May 13, at 8: 30 a.m. Throughout the week the hours will be- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, 8: 30 a.m . to 4: 30 p. m. ; Thursday, 8: 30 a. m . to 12: 30 p. m ., when the exhibit closes.

The new ACA pro· motional program will be previewed. American Pharmaceutical Association Public Education Award-winner of individual effort category Booth 12 Display will be public relations material used by the pharmacist winning the individual effort award in the APhA Education Awards Competition. Presentation of the award will be made at the APhA annual banquet . American Pharmaceutical Association Public Education Award-winner of organization category Booth 11 Display will be public relations material used by the pharmaceutical organization winning the organizational effort award in the APhA Public Education Awards Com· petition . Presentation of the award will be made at the APhA annual banquet. American Hospital Association Booth S-VI This exhibit will describe the services of and display the publications ofthe American Hospital Association. American National Red Cross Booths S-XX and S-XIX This exhibit will pertain to blood and derivatives for specific therapy. A lig hted map of the United States will show the location of the blood centers. Special emphasis will be given to t he use of gamma globulin . American Nursing Home Association Booth S-V This exhibit will describe the services and programs of the American Nursing Home Association . American Society of Hospital Pharmacists Booth 14 ASHP will display the American Hospital Formulary Service, the American Journal of Hospital Pharmacy and various reprints and official statements relating to hospital pharo macy. Information and brochures will be available on society membership and the Personnel Placement Service . APhA Life Booth S-XII APhA Life is a plan of life insurance underwritten by the Minnesota Mutal Life Insurance Company and sponsored by the American Pharmaceutical Association. It takes advantage of the mass purchasin g power of APhA' s memo bership to provide a minimum of $10.000 of life insurance at surprisingly low premiums . Cuban Refugee Emergency Center Booths S- XIII-S-Xil This exhibit will direct attention to the Cuban refugee resettlement program through blown·up photographs and legends. The question-"What Did They Bring from Red CUba ?"-wlli be answered by exiled Cuban pharma cists in attendance.

Rutgers University College of Pharmacy Booth S-IV There is a great need for centralizing and co·ordinating the health education activities to the community carried on by the pharmaceutical i ndustrY, health agencies and other groups . The pharmacy is an ideal location to offer the highest level of hea lth education practice to the com munity through available broc hures, pamphlets and other health aids on a suitable display rack. St. Louis College of Pharmacy Booth S-II The exhibit will feature original pharmaceutical dosage forms and photographs of the facilities where they were prepared. The products to be displayed were developed as a part of graduate students' theses proj ects . The use of rad ioisotopes in the development of susta ined release medication , new types of tablet coatings and u t ilization of ultra sonics will be shown. University of Florida APhA Student Chapter Booth S-VII Pharma cy on the trimester system will be featured with special emphasis on the facilities and graduate programs at the University of Florida college of pharma cy . Colored slides of the new pharmacy wing of the health center will be exhibited . Catalogs, brochures and application blanks will be available. University of Florida College of Pharmacy Booth S-III Accelerated studies of physiochemical and statistical procedures which permit prediction of stability and optimum composition will be shown . University of Illinois College of Pharmacy Booth S-I Nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy is a new and useful scientific tool havi ng numerous applications to pharmacy and pharmaceutical chemistrY. This exhibit will feature a working Varian A·60 NMR spectrometer and will depict its usefulness in solving scientific problems. Spec tra w ill be run for investigators submittin g samples. U.S. Army Biological Laboratories Booths S-XVII-S-XVI This exhibit will deal with recent advances in the isolation and production of vaccinal antigens and toxi ns conducted at the U.S. Army Biological Laboratories, Fort Detrick, Frederick, Maryland. U.S. Employment Service Washington, D,C. S-VIII An exhibit depictin g the profession al placement services available at professional offices of the United States Employment Service. Employment servi ce advisers will be available to provide profess ional pla ce m ent information to members and guests ofthe association. U.S. Public Health Service Division of Air Pollution Booth S-XV This walk-in exhibit will illustrate the dirty face of air pol lution and ex press the fresh fa ce of clean air. A pinwheel will rotate to give the impression of air movement. U.S. Public Health Service Division of Research Grants Booth S-XVIII "Grant and Award Programs of the Public Health Service" will describe the areas of financi al s upport available fro m PHS-researc h grants, program grants , rese arch trainin g and fellowships, health research fa ci lities constru ction grants .
