BRITISH VETERINARY JOURNAL, 131, 6 OTHER NEMATODES TRANSMITTED FROM DOGS TO MAN

Many other nematodes have long been known to be capable of being transmitted from dogs to man. The symptomatology produced by such infection is well established and the main symptoms known to develop in human infection are listed in Table 1. It is particularly with respect to toxocariasis that knowledge in the last decade has grown, for it was not until 1952 that this infection was known to occur in man. An increasing amount of work is making it clear that the nematodes of dogs are important as sources of human ill-health, In addition to creating veterinary problems. REFERENCES
