FOCUS depositary shares) at a value of €96.75 (cum dividend), consisting of €61.50 in cash and 0.357 shares of common stock of PPG per outstanding ordinary share (or for each three American depositary shares). The total value of our proposal of €96.75 per share is based on PPG's closing stock price of $105.94 and the prevailing exchange rate ($1.0726/Euro) on April 21, 2017. PPG's revised proposal represents an increase of €6.75, or 8%, over our prior proposal on March 22, 2017, and €13.75, or 17%, over the original proposal on March 2, 2017. PPG believes its revised proposal is vastly superior to AkzoNobel's new standalone plan, as articulated on April 19, 2017. One of the more notable risks of AkzoNobel's new standalone plan is that it creates two smaller, unproven standalone companies with uncertain market valuations and substantial risks for reaching its 2020 guidance, especially given many of the annual targets that AkzoNobel has identified have not been achieved previously. AkzoNobel's standalone plan also will require substantial restructuring; potentially decreases free cash flow, putting future and accelerated growth plans of the demerged companies at risk; and could require a regulatory review that would extend the timeline and create uncertainty.

BCF’s Survey Shows Concern of Coatings Sector Post-Brexit A major survey conducted by the British Coatings Federation (BCF) has revealed some significant concerns of the coatings sector regarding the economic and regulatory landscape post-Brexit. Coatings are an important "enabling'' economic sector to other key industries such as automotive and construction, allowing manufacturing to thrive in the UK, so being able to continue to have a competitive UK manufacturing base for paints, coatings and inks is critical to UK industry. The survey revealed that the majority of coatings companies see Brexit as a risk, rather than an opportunity, with specific concerns surrounding both tariff and non-tariff barriers Without free trade or the alignment of UK and EU chemical regulations, 10% of companies said they would consider moving their coatings manufacturing business operations to mainland Europe Serious concerns were also revealed surrounding additional customs bureaucracy and availability of raw materials The BCF, along with other trade associations in the chemical supply chain, recently met with representatives from the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy, the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs and the Department for International Trade to discuss the survey results and urge government to ensure the UK remains an attractive place for UK and foreign companies to manufacture paints, coatings, printing inks and wallcoverings. During the meeting, officials recognized the importance of the chemical industry supply chain to the UK

Arkema, Slipmate and Salco Products to launch Kynar powder coated rail car cover plates Arkema's primerless Kynar ADX PVDF powders will be used to coat large and complex objects on a new, efficient fluidized bed coating line that has been set up by Slipmate in Elgin, IL, US. Slipmate and Salco Products have successfully supplied closure component plates coated in Kynar PVDF to the tank car industry for the past five years. These components are used on rail cars carrying very corrosive chemicals, such as hydrochloric acid (HCl). These coverplates can be as large as 40 inch in diameter and weigh close to 500 lbs. Salco Products' plate design incorporating Kynar PVDF and a patentpending proprietary lining has established a product life that exceeds competitive offerings, with third party testing confirming life well beyond five years. For over five decades, Kynar fluoropolymers have been known globally for their excellent chemical resistance and durability. They have been specified by engineers across the globe in some of the world's most challenging material environments. Over the course of five-year infield trials, Kynar PVDF coated cover plates showed no signs of degradation or permeation of HCl. Given such impressive results, the commitment was made to scale up the operation and extend the use of Kynar PVDF.

Axalta Launches Hybrid Epoxy Powder Coating for Automotive Coil Springs Axalta Coating Systems has introduced the next generation in coil spring coatings. Alesta® Spring Black is a new hybrid epoxy powder coating that provides flexibility and mechanical resistance as well as superior corrosion resistance. Complete with enhanced corrosion, impact and stone chip resistance, Spring Black is formulated to allow a vehicle's coil suspension system to adapt to changing road conditions while supporting the weight of the vehicle. The product technology enables the coil suspension system to perform without compromising the integrity of the coating, which is designed as a one layer system. A high build in the coating's thickness results in an excellent appearance. Spring Black has a low curing temperature (150 8C metal) which puts less thermal stress on the spring and
