ANNOUNCEMENT EDITORIAL CHANGES COMMENCINGwith the current volume, the editing of the International Journal of Machine Tool Design and Research is being re-organised. The aim of the changes introduced is to place the reviewing of papers, and the editing of the Journal in general, on a very much broader basis, by involving a larger number of experts of particular aspects of machine tool design, development, research, production and manufacturing engineering. Thus, in future the Editor in Chief, Professor S. A. Tobias will be assisted by an Editorial Board and an Editorial Advisory Committee, the names of the persons belonging to these having been printed in the inside cover page of the present issue. It is intended that in the long run the editing of the Journal will go through further stages of devolution and that in due course each member of the Editorial Board will become responsible for the editing and the reviewing of papers falling into his own field of expertise, being in this task assisted by members of the Editorial Advisory Committee. Until a further announcement is made, potential authors of papers to be published in the Journal should continue to send manuscripts to the Editor in Chief, Professor S. A. Tobias. The Editor in Chief wishes to thank the members of the former Board of Regional Editors and the Consulting Editors for their contributions and assistance they have given over a period of many years.
