Conference on finite element methods in engineering
ANNOUNCEMENT CONJ!ERENCE ON FINITE ELEMENT METHODS IN ENGINEERING to be held at THE UNIVERSTY
OF NEW SOUTH WALES, AUSTRALIA on 28-30 August 1974
The Conference is being organized by the School of Civil Engineering of the University of New South Wales. It will be held at the University of New South Wales, Sydney, 28-30 August, 1974. It follows, also at the University of New South Wales, the first Australian Conference on Engineering Materials (26-28 August). Technical papers on a wide variety of topics will be presented. Fields covered by these papers include heat flow, biomechanics, fluid flow and geomechanics, as well as many in the more traditional area of structural mechanics. Many problems encountered in mechanics are examined, including instability, plasticity, visco-elasticity, element properties and convergence and accuracy analysis. These are applied to various types of structures, such as plates, shells, thr~-~mensional structures, plane stress, etc. The authors of those papers come from more than a dozen different countries, including many from Australia. A number of authors are well known in the field of finite elements, The Conference Proceedings will be published and will be for sale after the Conference, to those who are unable to attend.
