[email protected] This population from the heart of the rural Maya Area, Xela or Quetzaltenango, Guatemala, Latitude 15N, Longitude 91W consisted of 132 individuals. Grandparents had been born in the same area. The individuals spoke Mayan language and had a typical Mayan anthropometry. HLA alleles were determined using sequence specific oligonucleotide probes. The results have previously been published in Tissue Antigens 61, 425– 436, 2003. Human Immunology 65, 947–948 (2004). © American Society for Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics, 2004.
