Each of these methods will be examined with respect to technique of change, immediate target of change, agent of change~ underlying theory regarding the change process and the means by w ~ ich it is incorporated into the organization. The need is argued for a framework which brings together these approaches to change, since they characteristically occur in combination ' ~* have strong interaction effects. Moreover, each by itself produces partial ~xplanations and peculiar fallacies, i Open systems theory is proposed as a basis for such an integrative framework.
