10 The minutes of the meeting held on May 26th were approved. The congratulations of the members of the Yorkshire Branch Xvere sent to Dr. Helen Standring, who had been'awarded the M.B.E. for service in connection with Civil Defence. Officers were elected for the year 1944-45 (see p. 00). MIDLAND BRANCH President : Dr. A. B. Griffin (IVI.O.H., Worcester City). Hem Secretary : Dr. H. Paul (M.O.H., Smethwick C.B.). The annual meeting was held at Worcester on July 27th. There were present the President and 27 members, Officers o f the Branch were eIected for the year 1944-45 (see p. 00). Before the meeting the members and guests were conducted round the Ministry of Pensions hospital by Dr. S. J. Seurlock, the Medical Superintendent, and members of his staff, who demonstrated the functions of a rehabilitation unit. Tea was kindly provided and the thanks of the meeting were accorded to D r . Scurlock and the Matron. A vote of thanks was also accorded to the President. EASTERN BRANCH President: Dr, D. Wainwright (M.O.H., Great Yarmouth C.B.). Hon. Secretary: Dr. J. w . Dr. Banks, the Regional M.O. of the Ministry of Health, gave a short survey of the public health problems in the eastern region, and mentioned some recent methods in the control of typhu£ Dr. Dubash, E.M.S.
