Four large pumps delivered to Erskine oil platform
Sulzer P u m p s h a s recently comp l e t e d d e l i v e r y of f o u r large p u m p sets to i n c r e a s e condens a t e c a p a c i t y on t h e e x i s t i n g L o m o n d a n d N o r t h Everest oil p r o d u c t i o n p l a t f o r m s in t h e N o r t h Sea a t a cost of a b o u t £1.75m. The four p u m p s form p a r t of t h e E r s k i n e development. The order was placed by Kvaerner H & G Offshore, t h e c o n t r a c t o r for t h e o p e r a t o r , Texaco N o r t h Sea UK Company. The p u m p s a r e identical, b u t two a r e p l a c e d on e a c h p l a t form, one for in-line p u m p i n g a n d one for e x p o r t i n g oil cond e n s a t e t h r o u g h t h e p i p e l i n e to shore. E a c h p u m p is m o u n t e d on a b a s e p l a t e t o g e t h e r with electric motors, r a t e d a t 2075 kW, a seal system, t o p u p seal oil reservoir, p i p e w o r k a n d e l e c t r i c a l controls.
