Th e c o m p a n y , w h i c h s u p p l i e s total s e a l i n g p a c k a g e s for a u t o m o t i v e engines, is to r e f o c u s its Bristol, New H a m p s h i r e p l a n t for oil seal m a n u f a c t u r i n g only a n d will t r a n s f e r v a r i o u s n o n - o i l seal p r o d u c t i o n activities to o t h e r facilities. T h e Bristol p l a n t ' s r u b b e r mixing, s p r i n g m a k i n g a n d m e t a l s t a m p i n g activities will be m o v e d to t h e n e w C o m p o n e n t s Division, w h i c h will provide c o m p o n e n t s u p p o r t for t h e c o m p a n y ' s o t h e r m a n u f a c t u r i n g facilities. F r e u d e n b e r g - N O K s a y s t h a t t h e r e s t r u c t u r i n g is p a r t of its ' G e t Big by S t a y i n g S m a l l ' m a n a g e m e n t philosophy, developing focused factories which are d e d i c a t e d to fewer p r o c e s s e s a n d p r o d u c t s . As p a r t of t h i s n e w initiative, F r e u d e n b e r g - N O K h a s n a m e d Mr William T o b i n as p r e s i d e n t of t h e n e w C o m p o n e n t s Division. B a s e d at t h e c o m p a n y ' s N o r t h field facility h e will a s s i s t w i t h t h e t r a n s f e r , a n d then manage the components business.
