Singapore: Ishihara – TiO2 ISK Singapore, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Ishihara Sangyo Kaisha (of Osaka), intends to step up the capacity of its Jurong chloride-route TiO2 pigment plant from 45,000 tonnes/y to 48,500 tonnes/y during the fiscal year ending March 2005. Further expansion is planned, raising capacity to 60,000 tonnes/y during the year to end-March 2008. Holliday joins Elemica trading network Holliday Pigments (part of the Yule Catto group), the world’s largest manufacturer of ultramarine, has become one of the latest members of Elemica, described as “the leading global network for chemicals buying, selling and supply chain management.” Elemica was created in 2001 by eight founder member companies (see ‘Focus on Pigments’, Apr 2001, 1-2). It now has more than 150 members. Mr Robert Rae (Chairman of Holliday Pigments) said: “The move to Elemica is part of our overall Ebusiness strategy to shorten delivery and order lead times, as well as to improve accuracy in customer service, sales and purchasing.
