This population from Jamaica, Latitude 17.5N Longitude 76.4W consisted of 132 Black individuals. The individuals were drawn from an urban and rural environment and HLA alleles were determined using sequence specific primers. The results have previously been published in European Journal of Immunogenetics 29, 47, 2002. Subjects had no known white ancestry over 3 generations. HLA-DQA1*0101 and 0104 cannot be distinguished.
