RESIN and gel-coat specialist AOC, Collierville, Tennessee will be finishing its relationship with distributor HCI/Worum Fiberglass Supply, Germantown, Wisconsin, on 15 March 2002. Continuing the relationship over the long term is not seen as a strategic fit for either firm. Recently acquired by North American Composites, St. Paul, Minnesota, HCI/Worum supplies composites fabricators in the US states of Wisconsin, Minnesota, Nebraska and North and South Dakota. AOC splits with HCI/Worum
DANISH wind turbine blade manufacturer LM Glasfiber has started production in a new factory in China. The facility, around 90 km from Beijing, will initially produce rotor blades for 750 kW wind turbines. This factory will provide LM with access to the growing Chinese market, which is among the ten largest markets in the world, measured by installed wind power capacity. LM says it is currently building its longest blade to date (43.8 m) which will initially be mounted on a 2.5 MW Nordex N90 turbine. LM Glasfiber; tel: +45-79840000; fax: +45-7984-0001.
