TASMANIA

QUEENSLAND

NEW SOUTH WALES

The Tasmanian Branch has a new Executive, elected at the Annual General Meeting held on October 9, 1993. The new Executive is:

As 1993 draws to a close. it is with much pleasure that I take this opportunity to acknowledge and thank the members of Queensland's Management Committee, its sub-committees and the Central QLD Sub Branch for their contributions and support over the last 12 months. The association has enjoyed another successful year. Membership has continued to grow at a steady pace, with the association now being represented widely throughout Queensland

The NSW Management Committee met in late November and after examining the increased workload of the branch we wish to invite interested members to participate in the activities of the NSW Branch by joining one of the many subcommittees.

President: Ross MacDonald Vice President: Melanie Greenwood Secretary: Kyrn Wolter-Saler Treasurer: Annette Hniat At this meeting the branch also elected Kym Wolter-Saler as Federal representative. I would l i e to thank the retiring Executive on behalf of CACCN (Tas), for their outstanding dedication and contribution over the past couple of years. We wish them well for the future and particularly acknowledge the efforts of Leanne Aitken who leaves the state to continue her studies. The AGM followed an extremely successful seminar on "shock", which was well attended by over 80 nurses from many areas of nursing. We look forward to holding more seminars that will be of interest to all nurses in the state. The inaugural ANZICSICACCN Tasmanian branch's Continuing Education Meeting (CEM) is to be held in June 1994 in Hobart. This will be the F i t of our states' yearly CEM's and we would welcome any interstate visitors to join with us and spend some time in our picturesque state.

Our current activity is directed towards the organisation of the CEM and continuing to increase the profile of CACCN (TAS).

It was good to see QLD was well represented at the recent national conference held in Perth. On behalf of CACCN (QLD) Inc I would like to congratulate the conference organisers on a successful and informative conference that offered the traditional entertaining social program. Queensland now looks forward to hosting the 1995 National Conference at the new Convention Centre in Brisbane. Conference planning under the direction of our nursing convener, Karen Schnitzerling, has begun in earnest. Hosting the 1995 National Conference will signify the grand finale to the association's 21st Birthday celebrations. Yes, in 1995 CACCN Qld Inc (formerly ASCCN) turns 21! I would l i e to wish all members of CACCN a very Meny Christmas. I look forward to another rewarding year in 1994.
