News and announcements Restless Legs Syndrome Foundations Research Program Millions of men, women and children live their lives challenged by restless legs syndrome (RLS). Dedicated to identifying effective treatments and finding the cause of and a cure for this neurologic disorder. The RLS Foundation annually supports three to five, $35,000, basic and clinical research awards and fellowships. Areas in need of further research include, but are not limited to, epidemiology treatment models; and the role of dopamine, iron, circadian rhythm, and genetics in RLS. Deadline for a one-page letter of intent is December 1, 2001, with funding to begin on July 1, 2002.
