He branded as “false and disparaging to the profession” the alle gations of the suit which accused the Arizona State B oard of Dental Examiners with constitutional and antitrust violations. Among the allegations is conspiracy to prevent qualified dentists from practicing dentistry. At issue is board authorization allowing certain provisionally licensed dentists to perform charity dental care. Dr. Dalpiaz said that “according to one of the plaintiffs, the real purpose of the suit is to ‘force the state dental examiners to accept reciprocity.’ ” (4 -1 4 ) ■ A DENTIST-REFERRAL SERVICE THAT WANTS TO EXPAND NATIONWIDE o p en ed for b u sin e s s w ith a d v ertisem en ts in m ajo r C h icag o p u b lica tio n s. (4-14) ■ A MOVE BY A MEDICAL ACCREDITING AGENCY INTO DENTISTRY IS BEING OPPOSED by th e AD A
and the Commission on Accreditation. At its spring session, the ADA Board of Trustees approved a resolution supporting the Commission, which is contesting a move by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) to expand its authority to dental assisting and dental laboratory technology education programs. The Commission is the only agency recognized by the US Office of Education for accrediting dental auxiliary education programs. (4-14) JADA, Vol. 100, June 1980 > 987
