Notices RADIOLOGY IN BADEN-BADEN 1 1 - 1 6 September 1983 The Department of Radiology at the University of Connecticut is pleased to announce their Fifth International Radiology Symposium. This will take place in Baden-Baden in the Black Forest of West Germany, 1 1 - 1 6 September 1983. The Department of Radiology at the University Hospital, Freiburg, West Germany, under the direction of Professor Werner Wenz, will cosponsor the Congress. An international guest faculty has been invited which includes Joachim Burhenne, MD, Vancouver, Canada; Reginald Greene, MD, Harvaxd Medical School; Michael Johnson, MD, University of Colorado; Arthur Rosenbaum, MD, John Hopkins University, Baltimore; Charles Tegtmeyer, MD, University of Virginia and Professor Francis Weill, Besancon, France. POSTGRADUATE COURSE IN BASIC REVIEW AND RECENT ADVANCES IN NEURORADIOLOGY AND HEAD AND NECK RADIOLOGY 2 6 - 3 0 September 1983 This course, to be held at the Copley Plaza Hotel, Boston, Massachusetts, will be in two parts. Part I - Basic Neuroradiology, 26 September-12 noon, 29 September 1983; Part II - Head and Neck Radiology, 2 9 - 3 0 September 1983. The educational purpose of this course is to provide a unique opportunity for a basic review of information so as to acquire skill in the challenging areas of neurotadiologic and head and neck diagnosis. New concepts and recent advances in examination and evaluation, such as NMR, digital subtraction angiography and spinal CT, will also be discussed by leaders in the subspecialty. DIAGNOSTIC ULTRASOUND TUTORIAL PROGRAMME One-week training programmes are offered in clinical diagnostic ultrasound (excluding cardiac ultrasound) for physicians desiring more experience in uitrasonography. The programme is individualised to the applicant and the physician may subscribe to one or more weeks. Ordy one physician per week is accepted. Individual tutorials in ultrasound physics, equipment utilisation, clinical indications in B-scanning, linear and phased array real-time scanning and discussion of case material. Typical case load includes obstetric, general abdomen, pelvis, small parts and Doppler scanning. Practical clinical ultrasonogtaphy with 'hands-on training' is emphasised.
