AWHONN has recently partnered with MultiView, Inc. to launch the AWHONN Buyers Guide, an online vendor search designed specifically for the communities served by AWHONN. Easily accessible from a link on the AWHONN home page or directly at http://
awhonnsuppliermarketplace.com/index.php, the vendor search enables nursing professionals to conveniently perform targeted searches for industry-related products and services using either a user-defined keyword search or an alphabetized category and subcategory directory search. Unlike traditional search engine results that can generate numerous irrelevant results—and slow down your procurement process—the AWHONN Buyers Guide is filled with association-friendly suppliers and service providers. You can search for specialized providers of desired goods or individual products. And by clicking on the words “Desktop Search” located at the top of the guide’s main search page,

you can easily download the Desktop Search Toolbar directly to your computer. You’ll then have instant, oneclick access to both the AWHONN Buyers Guide and the AWHONN Web site at any time—even if you’re not logged on to your browser. To further enrich the directory, AWHONN encourages you to let us know of reliable companies you deal with regularly that are not currently listed in the Buyers Guide. This will provide an opportunity to include their information for the benefit of other AWHONN members. For questions, please contact the customer service staff at MultiView at 1-800-816-6710.
New JOGNN Associate Editor Marilyn Stringer, PhD, WHCNP-BC, RDMS, has been named the new associate editor of the Journal of Obstetric,
Gynecologic and Neonatal Nursing (JOGNN), AWHONN’s internationally ranked scientific and technical journal. Dr. Stringer, an associate professor of Women’s Health Nursing at the University of Pennsylvania, assumed the position following Gayle Roux, PhD, RN, CNS, NP-C, who announced her resignation on March 31 to pursue other professional opportunities and obligations. As JOGNN associate editor, Dr. Stringer will lead the journal’s “In Focus” section, which explores the latest in evidence-based practice and clinical innovation among women’s health, childbearing, newborn health and professional nursing interests. “I am honored to serve AWHONN in this role. The In Focus section of JOGNN is an outstanding vehicle to advance the care of women and newborns, and I look forward to working with the JOGNN reviewers, editorial
board and staff to advance our mission,” said Stringer. An AWHONN member since 1986, Dr. Stringer is an active researcher, author, lecturer and an advanced practice nurse at the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center in Philadelphia. In 2009, she received the AWHONN Award of Excellence in Education, and from 2005 to 2008 she served on the JOGNN Editorial Advisory Board. “AWHONN conducted an extensive search to fill the JOGNN associate editor position, and we are very excited to have someone with Dr. Stringer’s record of scholarship and professional experience to serve in this role,” said Dr. Nancy Lowe, JOGNN editor. “Her passion for perinatal nursing, her clinical expertise and her knowledge of global health issues will be a great asset to the journal.” Dr. Stringer earned her PhD and MSN degrees at the University of Pennsylvania, School of Nursing.
