Wilo opens new manufacturing facility in Beijing

W

ilo SE has officially opened a new production facility in Beijing, China, following an investment of more than E24 million. With the new plant, Wilo’s Chinese subsidiary in Beijing has increased is floor space to 20 000 sq m. Wilo intends to build on its market position in China through the new facility, and offer a faster delivery service to its customers in Asia. About 900 people currently work for Wilo in China. The pump company has been present in the Chinese market since 1995. “The Asia-Pacific region is currently the most dynamic economic region in the world,” said Wilo Group CEO Oliver Hermes. “This explains why Asia, and China in particular, plays an important role in our growth strategy. CRI Pumps acquires UK pumping solutions business

ndia’s CRI Pumps Pvt Ltd has signed a business transfer agreement with Pumps & Process Systems Ltd to acquire the Glasgow, UK-based company’s pumping solutions operations. This agreement will expand CRI Pumps’ industrial pumping solutions for pulp, slurry and chemical handling for a range of industries including paper mills, metals and mining, power, coal, chemicals and petrochemicals, and food and beverages. CRI Pumps plans to invest in a new dedicated manufacturing facility in India with testing. The company will also carry out further product developments and improvements along with a team of Pumps & Process Systems professionals stationed in India. 16

entair Inc has completed its merger with Tyco International Ltd’s Flow Control business, creating Pentair Ltd (see Pump Industry Analyst, April 2012). “We now have an even stronger company, with the scale to capitalise on our growth opportunities, unlock substantial synergies and generate strong shareholder returns,” said Randall Hogan, chairman and CEO of Pentair Ltd. “We have significantly increased our global presence, and together have a broader offering and expanded capabilities for our customers. Looking forward, we believe Pentair is uniquely positioned to benefit from the increased demands on energy, water, infrastructure and agriculture resulting from the growing population and wealth of the world.” Pentair Ltd now has 30 000 employees and operates more than 100 manufacturing facilities. “We are excited to welcome Flow Control employees to Pentair,” said Hogan. “We believe our shared vision and commitment to operational excellence through Pentair’s Integrated Management System will lead to better growth and success.” While Pentair Ltd is incorporated in Switzerland, its main US offices remain in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
