Novel pallada- and platinacycle complexes are reported, based on the reaction of phosphorus ylide Ph2P(CH2)2PPh2C(H)C(O)C6H4-m-Br with [MCl2(cod)] (M = Pd or Pt; cod = 1,5-cyclooctadiene). The structures were characterized spectroscopically and crystallographically. The palladacycle was employed as an efficient catalyst in Mizoroki-Heck coupling reactions of aryl chlorides and olefins, while both complexes possess strong antioxidant capacity.
The reaction of MCp3 with the hetero donor-chelating ligand 4,5-bis(diphenylselenophosphoranyl)-1,2,3-triazole afforded the trinuclear complexes (M = Y, Nd, Sm, Gd). X-ray diffraction studies revealed that these compounds possess a trinuclear M3(l3O) core exhibiting short M–Se contacts.

Three complexes with copper(II) acetate and 4-phenylpyridine (4-Phpy), two monomeric [Cu(MeCO2)2(4-Phpy)2(H2O)x] (x = 2 (1), 1.5 (2)) and one dimeric [Cu(MeCO2)2(4-Phpy)]2 were prepared and characterized. The obtaining of the compounds depends on the solvent used in the synthesis. The crystal structure of compound 2 contains two crystallographic independent mononuclear units. Each mononuclear unit forms an independent 1-D chain.
Novel perchlorinated Eu, Er and Lu monophthalocyaninates were prepared. Hybrid nanoparticle conjugates composed of the gold cores (20 and 30 nm in diameter) covered by the layers of target phthalocyanines were obtained. Considerable enhancement in nonlinear absorption was observed for hybrid nanoparticles.

A series of metal–organic frameworks based on designed 3,4-bis(carboxymethoxy)benzoic acid ligands were synthesized, structurally characterized, and the luminescent properties of some complexes have been also investigated.
[In(L)2]NO3 complexes (1–4) were obtained with N(4)-phenyl-2-acetylpyridine thiosemicarbazone, and its N(4)-meta-chlorophenyl-, N(4)-para-chlorophenyland N(4)-para-iodophenyl- derivatives. The cytotoxic effects of the compounds were evaluated against leukemia and solid tumor cells, as well as against non-malignant cells. Complex (1) was active against all tumor cell lineages, with selectivity indexes up to 144.
Introducing ruthenium ammines one at a time in the periphery of a novel iron bipyridyl complex containing three bridging ligands with nitrile groups can modulate the absorption coefficients in the visible region when using Ru(II) and in the NIR region when resorting to Ru(III).
We report herein a pyrene-based iminopyridine ligand L and its corresponding neutral (Zn(II) and Re(I)) and monocationic Cu(I) complexes, formulated as [ZnLCl2] 1, [ReLCl(CO)3] 3 and [CuL2](BF4) 2. Photophysical studies of these compounds showed a monomer type pyrene emission and a higher fluorescence quantum yield for zinc complex 1 as compared with copper 2 and rhenium 3 complexes.

Single crystal X-ray analysis and luminescent properties of three novel thiocyanate Cd(II) compounds with a versatile polydentate ligand (2,3,5,6-tetrakis(2-pyridyl)pyrazine – tppz) and thiocyanate anion have been discussed.
The energy landscapes of the ternary physiological (L -histidinato)(L -threoninato)copper(II) complex are calculated in the gas phase and in an implicitly modeled aqueous solution using the density functional theory functional B3LYP. The landscapes differ substantially due to more numerous aqueous than vacuum conformers. Pronounced conformational flexibility of aqueous conformers is established.

A series of pyridyl-spaced bis-NHC complexes of palladium(II) were prepared with substituents of varying steric bulk at the wingtip positions (R = methyl, ethyl, isopropyl, cyclohexyl, mesityl and 2,6-diisopropylphenyl). Solid-state structures for each [(PDCR)Pd(MeCN)](PF6)2 derivative allowed for evaluation of the steric properties of each of the different PDCR ligands. The redox properties and electrochemistry in the presence of CO2 was also assessed for each [(PDCR)Pd(MeCN)](PF6)2 complex.

The opening reactions of the thiazoline ring gave tricoordinate metallic complexes of type [M(Ln)Cl]. Crystals structures of complexes 1a–3a, 1bÆDMSO, and 2c are stabilized by M—M, pÆÆÆ p, or CH—Cl interactions. The predominance of the benzothiazoline (ring form) and the formation of complexes [Pd(Ln)Cl] (n = 1–3) by DFT calculations were evaluated.
Three transition metal coordination polymers based on various isopolymolybdates grafted by in-situ ligand have been synthesized under hydrothermal conditions, and different metal ions may play key roles in inducing such grafted isopolymolybdates and tuning various structures of the title compounds.
We have prepared the ionic and chargeneutral complexes [Fe(pzpybzim)2](BF4)2 and [Fe(pzpybzim-1H)2] of the basic 2-(6pyrazol-1-yl-pyridin-2-yl)-1H-benzimidazole (pzpybzim) ligand. Reactions of this ligand with Fe(II) ion gave a set of hexacoordinate complexes showing thermally induced spin crossover with the critical temperature lying above the room temperature. Furthermore, the photomagnetic investigation confirmed the LIESST effect for both compounds.
[Pd(BrQ)2] (1) and HBrQ[PdCl2(dBrQ)] (2) (BrQ = 7-bromo-quinolin-8-ol) have been prepared as potential anticancer agents. Both complex 2 and BrQ ligand showed significantly higher cytotoxicity against human colorectal cancer cells than cisplatin and this effect is particularly pronounced at low concentrations that can be tested in vivo.

spectra and powder X-ray diffraction. Single crystals of complexes 1–5 and 8 were obtained and their structures have been determined by single crystal Xray diffraction. The molecular structures of complexes 1 and 2 are very particular. They both contain two structures with different coordination environments but the same geometric configurations in the molecular structures, which has rarely been reported previously. Complexes 3, 4, 5 and 8 have similar structures with coordination numbers of nine, forming distorted monocapped square antiprisms, and their binuclear structures are stitched together by p–p intermolecular interactions to form 1D chains. The thermal decomposition mechanisms of complexes 1–10 have been studied by the technology of TG and TG-FTIR. The antimicrobial activities of the ten complexes have been explored by the disc diffusion method. The solid-state luminescence of complexes 5 and 7 was also studied, and the two complexes exhibit strong fluorescence, which shows that phen has a better sensitizing effect.
