S4400

Connects up to eight remote Ethernet I.ANs into single integrated network using point-to-point lines or X.25 data networks. Enclosure itself holds up to four independent hardware modules, each containing two serial port connections. User can add or replace a module or troubleshoot a single network segment while rest of network operates freely. Serving as network hub, the ACS 4400 simultaneously bridges and routes data through network as required by individual LANs

NB 2010

Operates at the Media Access Control (MAC) layer of the ISO network model, supporting any combination of TCP/IP, XNS, DECnet, LAT, TOP and ISO traffic. Filtering rate of 24 000 pps and forwarding rate of 13 000 pps. Three types of filtering can be applied to packets: multiaddress filtering reduces number of broadcast messages sent to other networks; source address can keep certain network nodes from transmitting to the rest of the network; and protocol type filtering can be used in a mixed I.AN environment to keep certain protocols local. Multiple NB2010 bridges can be installed to provide a backup routing capability
