Gateway for Ingres relational database management to DEC’s RMS filing system. Provides transparent access through Ingres’ Open SQL to data held in RMS files on VAX systems. Allows lngres users to send industry standard SQL requests transparently to DEC’s RMS with a minimum of software overhead. The gateway analyses the equest and transforms the Open SQL to RMS function cals. Data is then transferred, using Ingres’ Global Communications Architecture, back to the requesting user interface.

LANCON
Multi-user gateway which alows any Nokia Data PC or compatible LANbased PC to emulate an E240 workstation, providing connection to Nokia’s System 2500 transaction processing mini computer. Can be configured to support either five or 16 users simultaneously over each gateway, and since multiple gateways are supported, more than one System 2500 can be connected to the network. Parameters can be set in the gateway to allocate fixed process numbers to certain users, while for the other users access can be provided by a ‘pool’ of processes, shared by an unlimited number of users over the network.

Datamizer III PB-8 & XB-2
Enhanced products now operate over a 64 kbit/s digital line, enabling the user to migrate more easily to high speed services. PB-8 provides throughput of 307.2 kbit/s and XB-2 of 256 kbit/s over existing lower speed lines. Therefore, excess lines or circuits can be elimnated, or high speed equipment can be added instantly without installing new circuits. Consequent throughput quadrupling improves response times, maintains sessions, and thus increases productivity.
