SKF sells Purafil and Kaydon Custom Filtration to Filtration Group

KF has divested Purafil Inc and Kaydon Custom Filtration Corp to Filtration Group Corp, an affiliate of Madison Industries. Both Purafil and Kaydon Custom Filtration joined the SKF Group in 2013 as part of the acquisition of Kaydon Corp. Atlanta, Georgia-headquartered Purafil develops and maintains gas phase air filtration systems and solutions that protect people, processes and the environment. Kaydon Custom Filtration is a supplier of specialised diesel fuel and oil filtration systems and filter elements for industrial applications based in LaGrange, Georgia. Purafil and Kaydon Custom Filtration had combined sales of approximately US$40 million in 2014. “Combining forces with such a forwardthinking company uniquely positions Kaydon Filtration to build upon its foundation of quality, innovation, and customer focus,” said James Mash, president and CEO of Purafil and Kaydon Custom Filtration. “I truly believe this is a remarkable opportunity for
us to expand our leadership in the filtration industry with a strategic partner.” Filtration Group is making a fixed payment of US$90 million on a cash-free and debt-free basis for the two businesses. Donaldson acquires dust collection and engine filter businesses
D
onaldson Co Inc has taken a majority stake in IFIL USA LLC, a manufacturer of pleated bag filters for industrial dust collection, and entered into a binding agreement to acquire Industrias Partmo SA, a Colombian manufacturer of replacement air, lube and fuel filters. Founded in 2009 and based in Harrisonville, Missouri, IFIL USA’s products are sold to a range of industries, including primary metals, grain, food, mining, minerals and pharmaceuticals. The business has approximately 40 employees.
“IFIL USA is a great addition to Donaldson’s industrial air filtration business,” said Tod Carpenter, Donaldson’s president and CEO. “IFIL USA’s industry-leading technology gives customers significant advantages compared to traditional filter bags, including longer filter life, faster filter changes and reduced air emissions. We look forward to continuing IFIL USA’s strong growth as a part of the Donaldson Team.” IFIL USA is expected to contribute approximately US$6 million–US$8 million of revenue to Donaldson’s fiscal 2016 results.
