Filtration Group to acquire Mahle’s industrial filtration business and Essentra’s Porous Technologies Filtration Group Corp has agreed to buy Mahle Group’s industrial filtration business and Essentra plc’s Porous Technologies operations. Mahle’s industrial filtration business segment employs approximately 900 people worldwide, with around 410 of these working in Öhringen, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Industrial filtration products are outside Mahle’s core business which focuses primarily on the automotive industry. “In Filtration Group, we are pleased to have found a buyer that, thanks to its expertise and size, is in a position to give the industrial filtration business a boost,” said Wolf-Henning Scheider, chairman of the Mahle management board and CEO. “Mahle’s industrial filtration business will greatly expand Filtration Group’s product portfolio and customer base,” said Steve Felice, CEO of Filtration Group. “We are extremely pleased with the know-how and expertise of the workforce that has built a truly remarkable business.” The 370 employees at the Öhringen site who work for Mahle’s automotive Filtration and Engine Peripherals business unit are unaffected by the sale.

The transaction values the Porous Technologies business at £220 million. Andritz Frautech Srl and Conqord Oil srl (Q8Oils) have signed a partnership agreement for the supply of separators for the treatment of coolants, washing fluids and industrial oils. Italy’s Conqord Oil produces lubricating oils and emulsions and is active in the metalworking industry. Under the agreement, Andritz will supply skid-mounted and plugand-play separators in a concentrator version for coolants and washing fluid management, as well as separators in purifier and clarifier versions for the treatment of industrial oils.

Donaldson expands in South America with Partmo Donaldson Co Inc has completed its acquisition of certain business assets from Colombia’s Industrias Partmo SA, through its new wholly owned subsidiary Filtros Partmo SAS. Bucaramanga-based Partmo manufactures and distributes air, lube and fuel filters for mediumand heavy-duty engines. “Partmo is a leading brand of replacement filters in Colombia and other countries in Latin America. Their product lines and distribution partners will complement Donaldson’s existing business in the region,” said Guillermo Briseño, Donaldson’s vice president for Latin America.
The transaction is subject to approval by the antitrust authorities. Essentra Porous Technologies develops and manufactures custom fluid handling components, engineered from a portfolio of technologies that includes bonded
