Mann+Hummel expands in HVAC and HEPA filters with Jack Filter takeover

T

he Mann+Hummel Group has entered into a binding agreement to acquire Jack Filter Lufttechnik and Jack Filter Hungaria, expanding its product portfolio in HVAC (heating, ventilation, air conditioning) and HEPA (high efficiency particulate air) filters. Jack Filter, a family-led company that was founded in 1947, specializes in the production and sale of air filters for ventilation, air conditioning and cleanroom technology. The company has two state-ofthe-art production facilities in Austria and Hungary, annual sales of approximately E10 million and employs around 100 people. With the acquisition, Alexander Gaggl, managing partner of Jack Filter, will take on a management role in Mann+Hummel’s global Intelligent Air Solutions business area.

Italy’s GVS to acquire Kuss Filtration

talian microfiltration company GVS SpA has agreed to acquire Kuss Filtration Inc from private equity firm Industrial Opportunity Partners. Headquartered in Findlay, Ohio, USA, Kuss Filtration manufactures fuel, oil, lubrication and urea filters, engine air intake, cabin air and emission filters for the light vehicle, outdoor power equipment, powersport and on-and off highway commercial vehicle markets. The company has four production plants in the US, Brazil and China, and sales offices in France and Switzerland. Industrial Opportunity Partners acquired Cummins Inc’s Light Duty Filtration assets in 2011 and renamed the business Kuss Filtration. GVS, which was founded in 1979, develops and manufactures filtration products primarily for the medical, automotive, safety, life science, appliance and industrial markets. The company has 11 manufacturing plants in Italy, UK, Brazil, China, Romania and USA, with supporting

sales offices in 22 countries. “GVS has high expectations for this new investment,” said Massimo Scagliarini, CEO of GVS. “Kuss Filtration brings us extensive experience in the fuel filtration market. Their skilled management team, product portfolio, and significant sales position, will give GVS’s Automotive Division clear leadership in the automotive microfiltration market.” “This partnership will allow us to fully utilize our design and technical skills.
