STUDY CLUB NEWS The Georgia Association of Endodontists
met in June and heard Dr. Ronald A. Eichel, Atlanta pedodontist, speak on "The utilization of nitrous oxide as as adjunct in the behavioral management of children during dental treatment." Dr. Jerome Barnett assumed office as new GAE president. Other new officers are Drs. Charles Gregory, president-elect and program chairman, and Thomas Masters, secretary-treasurer. The group's fall meeting will be held in the Virgin Islands in October. The Edward C. Penick Endodontic Study Club recently held its all-day meeting
in Silver Spring, Md, with Dr. Leon Lefer, a diplomate in psychiatry as well as a dentist, presenting a paper on "The emotional aspects of dental practice and living." Members and their spouses participated in this enlightening seminar dealing with some of the emotional problems and stresses that arise in dental practice and in life outside the office.

ABE Education Program Draws Favorable Response Atlanta: The preliminary results of
the voluntary continuing education program initiated by the American Board of Endodontics in 1976 indicate that the program has been received favorably by the diplomates. The program awards a point score for participation in the continuing education programs, and a 15-point total is required during a three-year

period for each diplomate who participates. Diplomates fulfilling the educational requirements will be recognized as having done so in the 1979-1980 roster. Information and registration forms for the programs are available on request from the central office. To date, 55% of the ABE diplomates have registered and are participating in the continuing education program. O f these, 75% have corn-
