Maxillofacial pain topic at P e n n s y l v a n i a m e e t i n g Pocono Pines, Pa: Dr. Samuel Seltzer discussed "The expanding role of the endodontists in the diagnosis and management of maxillofacial pain" as the Pennsylvania Academy of Endodontists met in conjunction with the Pennsylvania Dental Association at the Tamiment Resort and Country Club near here. Dr. Alan Kirsh of Hatboro was elected president of the PAE for 1979 to 1980. Also chosen were Drs. Ronald Ferrari, Pittsburgh, program chairman, and Norman Dinnerman, Levittown, secretary-treasurer.

sented on the scientific program at the ADA annual session here. One program focused on diagnostic techniques and case selection. Panel participants and their subjects were Drs. Pat J. Ferrillo, Dallas, diagnosis and case selection; Manuel I. Weisman, Augusta, Ga, instrumentation and obturation; and George Z. Zurkow, Wilmington, Del, auxiliary utilization. Another program featured problem cases in endodontic treatment. Essayists and their subjects included Drs. John W. Ham, Dallas, open apex; James w . Gutmann, Baltimore, vital cases of open apex; Thomas W. McDonald, Atlanta, internal and external resorption; and Paul M. Vanek, Ann Arbor, Mich, surgical intervention of endodontic catastrophes. Eddy Skidmore, a 1966 graduate of the school, is president of the School of Dentistry Alumni Association. Dr. Skidmore, whose main research interest has been root canal morphology, succeeds Dr. Camillo A. Alberico. Honored: With the Torch of I,earning Award by the dental division of the American Friends of the Hebrew University, Dr. Dudley Glick. Healey E n d o d o n t i c Study Club's two-day meeting for members, spouses, and families held at Brown County Inn in Nashville, Ind. tie presented a review of oral pathology, with emphasis on nonodontogenic radiolucent lesions and odontogenic cysts and tumors. Another program speaker was Dr. C. Ted Deane, an oral surgeon, who discussed pharmacological aspects of various new and old antimicrobial, analgesic, and anti-inflammatory agents. The Kiawah Island resort in South Carolina was the site of the recent annual session of the Southern E n d o d o n f i c Study Group. Dr. Prensky also presented a lecture on classical music appreciation. Other presentations were made by Joe Collins, Jim Riggins, .and Dan Kolzet. Dr. James Tare was installed as president and Dr. John Mills was elected secretary-treasurer. The first meeting of the new program year of the Edgar D. Coolidge Endodontic Study Club of Chicago was held at the Illinois Athletic Club and featured Dr. Edward Pavlik who discussed forensic dentistry. Dr. -Joseph Maggio, program chairman, also announced that Dr. Samuel Seltzer will be the speaker at the annual seminar Nov 7.
