The Academy's new officers The new Academy officers and directors for 1980 were announced at the Annual Business Meeting on Monday, Dec. 3, 1979. President: Alfred W. Kopf, M.D. Dr. Kopf, who was elected as president-elect for 1979, was automatically elevated to the presidency. Dr. Kopf is professor of dermatology, S!"in and Cancer Unit, New York University School of Medicine, New York, NY. President-Elect: Harold O. Perry, M.D. Dr. Perry is professor of dermatology, Mayo Graduate School of Medicine, and chairman, Department of Dermatology, Mayo Medical School and Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN. Vice-President: Gordon C. Sauer, M.D. Dr. Sauer is clinical professor of medicine (dermatology), University of Kansas School of Medicine, Kansas City, KS, and is in the private practice of dermatology since 1954 in Kansas City, MO. Board of Directors The four members of the Board of Directors include: Irwin M. Braverman, M.D., professor, Depart-

ment of Dermatology, Yale University School of Medicine, New Haven, CT. Robert M. Fine, M.D., clinical professor of dermatology, Emory University School of Medicine, and in private practice since 1961 in Decatur, GA. Walter G. Larsen, M.D., associate professor of dermatology, University of Oregon Health Sciences Center, and in private practice since 1966 in Portland, OR. William L. Weston, M.D., associate professor of medicine and chairman, Department of Dermatology, University of Colorado Medical Center, Denver, CO. The officers were elected according to the provisions of the Academy's Bylaws. Each year, the Nominating Committee presents two candidates for each office and opening on the Board of Direc.:. tors. These candidates are announced to the Academy membership in the Bulletin section of the JOURNAL. The Bulletin announcement includes a picture and short curriculum vitae of each candidate. Ballots and an abstracted curriculum vitae are mailed to the Academy membership each September by an independent certified public accountant. The accounting firm collects, tabulates, and certifies the election results.
