The FIGIJ Newsletter, 1994, No.2 The new FIGIJ statutes have now been accepted by the FIGO Board. The statutes will now be processed for voting and approval at the General Assembly of the FIGIJ during the XI World Congress of Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology.

The Second Congress concerning the Recent Developments on Pediatric-Adolescent Gynecology and Endocrinology took place in Athens under the auspices of the FIGIJ between December 8 and 11, 1993. There were 550 participants including the following guests: V. Bruni, Sir J. Dewhurst, A. Genazzani, J. Horejsi, D. Keith-Edmonds, G. Maroulis, P. McDonough, J. Orley, A. Psychoyos, L. Speroff, J. Toublanc, and G. Tscherne. The following subjects were discussed: neuroendocrinology and pathology of puberty, nutritional habits, athletics and menstrual cycle, sexual activity, AIDS, hepatitis, contraception, molecular biology, genetics. On this occasion we would like to urge you once again to attend the XI World Congress of Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology to be held in Singapore on February 23-26,1995. The following topics have been approved by the Scientific Committee for presentation during the Congress: neuroendocrinology of puberty and its disorders; puberty-normal and abnormal aspects; puberty and hormones; pathophysiology of chronic anovulation; hyperandrogenism in the adolescent; menstrual disorders: endocrine basis & treatment; adolescent sexuality; contraception and the adolescent; teenage sexuality; sexually transmitted diseases; sexual abuse; frontiers in pediatric and adolescent gynecology; prevention of STDs in adolescents, bone and the adolescent; and surgical problems.
