Programme of Workshops The ESVS is proud of developing the original presentations, posters, symposia and workshops at the annual general meeting. This is in addition to the monthly European Journal of Vascular Surgery received by all members. We are now trying to reach all vascular surgeons throughout the year (both trainees and consultants). For this reason we have developed workshops run by the ESVS in association with national societies or enthusiastic institutions and individuals. This is only the second year of this programme and we already have 16 confirmed workshops for 2010 in addition to the seven workshops at the Annual Meeting in Amsterdam. These workshops are supported by sophisticated simulation techniques and cover fundamental and complex open surgery, fundamental and complex endovascular surgery, modern venous surgery, renal access and skills required for duplex investigation. We are also attempting to scatter these workshops throughout Europe. They require not only enthusiasm from within the Training and Education Committee and the hard working support of Technical Tutors, but also from those of you who wish to develop training in your local regions. We are also excited about developing Distance Learning through an ESVS website in conjunction with the Education Series of articles edited by the European Journal of Vascular Surgery. We welcome suggestions and support from all of you, particularly those on the geographical or financial fringes of Europe. Constructive criticism is also welcome!
