Donaldson to purchase UAE filter maker Northern Technical Donaldson Co Inc subsidiary Donaldson Europe BVBA – UAE Branch has entered into an agreement to acquire Northern Technical LLC, a manufacturer of gas turbine inlet air filtration systems and replacement filters, based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Northern Technical is expected to have sales of approximately US$22 million in calendar year 2014. After the acquisition is completed, Donaldson will manage its Europe, Middle East and Africa Gas Turbine business from its Abu Dhabi branch office.

“The acquisition will allow us to leverage Northern Technical’s strong customer relationships in the Middle East, the largest gas turbine market in the world, with significant continued growth expected over the next decade. The acquisition will also broaden our product depth as Northern Technical has unique technology that we will leverage into new, first-fit air intake offerings for our customers. Dundee Sarea acquires Italy’s Redecam Canadian private equity firm Dundee Sarea has taken a majority stake in Italian air filtration specialist Redecam Group Srl in partnership with the company’s founder and chairman Guiseppe Bettoni. Milan-based Redecam designs and installs air filtration equipment, flue gas treatment systems and air conditioning solutions for the cement, power generation and waste-to-energy industries. Products include bag filters, electrostatic precipitators, standard air filter systems and flue gas desulfurization equipment. In the last 15 years Redecam has provided custom filtration solutions to more than 200 customers in approximately 450 locations across 75 countries. “Founded in 1984, the company has historically generated significant repeat business from the majority of multinational cement producers and as a result, has a very globally diverse sales

base with over 95% of revenues generated outside of Italy and over 80% outside of Europe,” said Sam Ramadori, a Dundee Sarea managing partner. “In Dundee Sarea we found not only a partner who understood the advantages of our air filtration technology and the long-term potential of the air treatment market, but also a partner who will be able to support us as we expand internationally into new markets and new product segments,” said Redecam’s Bettoni. Contech Engineered Solutions buys Filterra from Americast

Contech Engineered Solutions LLC has acquired the assets of Filterra Bioretention Systems from Americast Inc. The acquisition includes the Filterra product line and all related intellectual property. The Filterra system is an advanced stormwater treatment technology that uses enhanced bioretention for the removal of pollutants from stormwater. The system removes total suspended solids (TSS), nutrients, hydrocarbons and metals while improving aesthetics. Filterra has been third party field tested and has earned a number

of state and local regulatory approvals throughout the US.
