Ebara’s Kumamoto plant undamaged by earthquakes

bara Corp’s production plant in Kumamoto is continuing to operate as normal, following the recent earthquakes that hit the Japanese city. All Ebara employeesare safe and the company says there has been no damage to facilities at the plant that would affect production. The Kumamoto plant, which was completed in 2001, is the core production plant for Ebara’s Precision Machinery Business.
Chinese company Chengdu Techcent Environment Group (see Pump Industry Analyst, February 2016). Bilfinger will receive net proceeds of E200 million from the sale. The Water Technologies division, which had a turnover of E300 million last year and employs about 1600 people, specialises is water and wastewater management, screening and filtration technologies and vacuum technology. Products and services are marketed under the Airvac, Diemme Filtration, Geiger, Johnson Screens, Noggerath, Passavant and Roediger brand names. Diemme Filtration piston and piston-membrane pumps are manufactured for filter press feeding and are suitable for pumping particularly abrasive or corrosive liquids, whose chemical-physical characteristics are variable.

Schlumberger completes Cameron merger

chlumberger Ltd and Cameron International Corp have closed their merger (see Pump Industry Analyst, September 2015). The deal brings Schlumberger reservoir and well technology with Cameron wellhead and surface equipment, flow control and processing technology. Scott Rowe, former CEO of Cameron, and who now becomes president of Schlumberger Cameron Group, said: “This is an exciting time for all Cameron employees as we integrate our portfolio with Schlumberger technologies to deliver improved operational performance, higher levels of cost efficiency, and close commercial alignment through new risk-based business models, while continuing to focus on the needs of our customers.”
