ird Machine acquires Ketema Tim Probert, the president of Baker Hughes Process Equipment Company (BHPEC), has announced the acquisition of Ketema Process Equipment Company. From May 31, 1996, the operations of Ketema will be merged with Bird Machine Company Inc, which is a division of BHPEC headquartered in South Walpole, Massachusetts, USA. Bird is a manufacturer of liquid/solid separation equipment serving the petrochemical, plastics and minerals industries. Ketema, based in Santee, California, is a leading supplier of liquid/solid separation and drying equipment for the fine chemicals and pharmaceutical industries. European impact for dust control merger The merger between BTR Group company DCE and German dust control equipment manufacturer Neotechnik Filterbau GmbH has been concluded. The two parties believe that it will have a major impact on the dust control markets throughout Europe, as combined research and design expertise, technological advancements and shared knowledge will be used to improve dust control and to pioneer greater filter efficiency. As a result of the merger some component manufacture will be transferred to

Porvair Technology has announced the appointment of Duncan Parks as its new managing director. He takes over from Lew Bingham who has been appointed managing director of Porvair International Limited. Duncan Parks (39) was previously manufacturing director of Porvair International, a post he has held for three and a half years. He gained his first degree
in Business Studies at Loughborough University (UK) before completing a Masters at Bradford Management Centre.
