Pump Industry Awards: call for nominations Taking place on Wednesday 23 March 2011 at the Hilton Hotel in Coventry and now in its eighth year, the Pump Industry Awards reward companies, innovations and people that have achieved the highest standards and helped drive the pump industry forward. Held in association with the BPMA (British Pump Manufacturers Association) and World Pumps, the awards focus on key areas of manufacture and supply, including innovation and achievement, energy saving, engineering excellence, customer care and employee motivation. The organisers are now calling for entries from companies for achievements during 2009/2010.The judging panel will be looking for evidence of genuine excellence, both measurable and memorable. Entry is free and further guidelines are available on the website. All entries are judged on their relative merits and looking at the following criteria within each category.
Technical Innovation of the Year Products, sponsored by World Pumps
Awarded for the most innovative pump, pumping system or other pump related product (new or redeveloped) with effectiveness being demonstrated on the application details. Entries will be required to show; t innovation t application details t use and relevance of product t product success
Technical Innovation of the Year Projects, sponsored by Process Industry Informer
Awarded for the most innovative pump project/installation or service introduced onto the market within the last 12 months. Entries will be required to show: t innovation t application details t use and relevance of product t product success
Environmental/Energy Saving Award, sponsored by WEG

Awarded for the pump product, system or service that has made a significant contribution to environmental issues, such as energy savings, emissions control, noise reduction or life cycle costs. Entries will be required to show: t product is eco-friendly t application details t use and relevance of the product t product success
Manufacturer of the Year, sponsored by June Crane
Awarded to the pump manufacturer who has achieved recognition from contractors or final end users of pump products for their services in areas such as technical expertise and advice. Entries will be required to show: t manufacturing capabilities t customer/contractor recognition t customer service programme
Distributor of the Year, sponsored by ITT Goulds
Awarded to the pump distributor who has achieved recognition from either the pump sector or final end user for their services to industry in areas such as technical ability and advice, customisation of special needs, market penetration and

Young Pump Engineer of the Year, sponsored by SPP Pumps
Supplier of the Year Awarded to a supplier to the pump industry that has demonstrated consistently high levels of technical innovation and developments, environmental awareness, customer service and satisfaction, market penetration and growth. Entries will be required to show: t technical innovation t environmental awareness t customer/pump industry recognition t market penetration and growth
Awarded to a young pump engineer who has made a positive contribution to an interesting product or project. Anyone who is 30 years of age or under as of 1st January 2011, is eligible to enter. Entries will be required to show: t the product, project or process t successes achieved t involvement of the candidate t continuing competence
Date and venue The awards will be held on Wednesday 23 March 2011 at the Hilton Hotel, Coventry. More than 250 professionals attend this evening of networking and celebration.

Taking advantage of the networking opportunities and a chance to catch up with colleagues from different part of the industry is a big part of the awards evening.
