newly e s t a b l i s h e d seals factory in Wuxi, China. This factory, located some 150 km to the west of S h a n g a i a n d e q u i p p e d with the m o s t a d v a n c e d technology, is p r o d u c i n g in the first stage with 110 employees radial shaft seals ( S i m m e r r i n g s ) for the automotive industry and o t h e r sectors of industry. The erection of this factory in Wuxi has b e n e f i t t e d from the energetic s u p p o r t of the NOK-Freud e n b e r g c o m p a n y Singapore Oil Seal Co which has already b e e n r u n n i n g its own facilities in Singapore for some time now. The first C h i n e s e factory in C h a n g c h u n , the c a p i t a l of the Jilin province, has b e e n p r o d u cing seals since 1994. A f u r t h e r e x p a n s i o n of p r o d u c t i o n is p l a n n e d for o t h e r g r o u p s of products, such as Vibration control components, rubber m o u l d e d p a r t s , b r a k e hoses, hydraulic seals a n d O-rings. Freudenberg and NOK pooled t h e i r activities in C h i n a at a n early stage by e s t a b l i s h i n g the NOK-Freudenberg Asia Holding Co Pte Ltd in Singapore. The total v o l u m e of the order is a p p r o x i -
m a t e l y 5 m i l l i o n DM. P u t z m e i s t e r is n o t j u s t res p o n s i b l e for the m a c h i n e a n d p l a n t c o n s t r u c t i o n b u t also for the complete m a i n t e n a n c e a n d t h e 24 h o u r servicing of the concreting e q u i p m e n t . The act u a l c o n c r e t i n g p h a s e is estim a t i n g to take a p p r o x i m a t e l y 3 years. They are 42 m wide, 22 m long a n d 8.5 m high. 2700 m 3 concrete are r e q u i r e d for each t u n n e l s e g m e n t which has to be ins t a l l e d w i t h i n 24 hours.
