It would appear that this miniature SEM, which admittedly cannot compete with the more elaborate instruments, has an interesting specification coupled with low cost, minimum space requirements and simplicity of maintenance. It should find its place as a teaching instrument, as a valuable aid to optical microscopy and even as a back-up microscope for a high performance SEM. The cost is less than that of some research light microscopes.
