PPP contract signed for Mexican desal plant

exico’s State of Baja California has signed a public-private partnership contract with Aguas de Rosarito SAPI de CV (AdR), the special purpose project company owned by NuWater SAPI de CV and Consolidated Water Co Ltd subsidiary NSC Agua SA de CV. AdR will design, construct, finance and operate the seawater desalination plant in Playas de Rosarito, Baja California, in two phases. The first phase will have a capacity of 50 million gallons per day and an aqueduct to the Mexican potable water system in Tijuana, Baja California, while the second phase will have a capacity of 50 million gallons per day and an aqueduct to a second delivery point in Tijuana. AdR has selected Degremont SA de CV to design and construct the project.
MINING
Outotec to provide process equipment for Mexican mine utotec has been awarded a €23 million contract by Goldcorp for the delivery of process equipment for Peñasquito’s pyrite leach process in Mexico. The order includes the design and delivery of five thickeners, one 3500 kW Outotec HIGmill, and 15 Outotec TankCell e630 flotation cells. Deliveries will take place in 2017.
The project will expand bauxite production from 14.5 million to 18.5 million tons per year and is the first part of the company’s planned three-phase expansion. Fluor’s scope includes expansion of the mine infrastructure, rail system, port facility and processing plant infrastructure and utilities. Fluor has been involved since the project’s early stages executing the feasibility study and early engineering. The expansion is expected to be completed in 2018. CBG is jointly owned by the Government of Guinea and the Halco Mining consortium, which includes Alcoa, Rio Tinto and Dadco Investments.

Amec Foster Wheeler secures Thai Oil’s clean fuel project contract
A
mec Foster Wheeler has won a front end engineering design (FEED) contract with Thai Oil Public Co Ltd for its clean fuel project at the Sriracha Refinery in Thailand. The contract is due for completion in the second quarter of 2017. The project will increase crude distillation capacity from 275 000 barrels per stream day (bpsd) to 410 000 bpsd and improve the energy efficiency of Thai Oil’s refinery.

Fluor to undertake bauxite expansion project in Guinea

ompagnie des Bauxites de Guinée (CBG) has awarded Fluor Corp a US$501 million engineering, procurement and construction management contract for the Bauxite Production Expansion Project in Kamsar, Guinea.
Technip to design and build pyrolysis plants for BTG Bioliquids
T
echnip has signed an exclusive cooperation agreement with BTG BioLiquids BV (BTL) to provide engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services for its modular pyrolysis plants. The plants will be based on BTL’s Fast Pyrolysis Oil (FPO) technology which converts biomass to oil through a rapid pyrolysis process. The agreement will be managed by Technip’s operating centre in Zoetermeer, the Netherlands, which is part of Technip Stone & Webster Process Technology, which looks after Technip’s expanding portfolio of onshore process technologies in petrochemicals, refining, hydrogen and syngas, polymers and gas monetization.
