KSB grows orders, sales and earnings in first 9 months of 2019

P

ump and valve manufacturer KSB says it is satisfied with the current financial year, with nine-month order intake, sales revenue and EBIT well above the 2018 figures. In an interim report for the nine-month period ended 30 September 2019, KSB confirmed that cumulative order intake in the first three quarters rose by E112 million or 6.3% to E1887 million, while sales revenue increased by E132 million or 8.1% to E1767 million. All of KSB’s segments and nearly every region contributed to this growth. EBIT also developed as planned with currency translation effects having only a minor impact. “This positive development is attributable, in particular, to the good project business. In addition, the measures introduced last year to promote sales and the service business are showing initial signs of success,” said KSB CEO Dr Stephan Timmermann. “Given the good earnings achieved in the first three quarters and despite the economic slowdown sparked by growing trade tensions and structural changes in some industries, we are confident of achieving the order intake, sales revenue and earnings targets set for the current 2019 financial year.” All three of KSB’s segments – Pumps, Valves and Service – increased order intake and sales revenue. On order intake, the Service segment 14

delivered the largest percentage growth at 8.5%, the Valves segment increased 8.1 %, while the Pumps segment recorded an increase of 5.3%. There was also strong growth in order intake in all regions, driven mainly by KSB’s project business. Sales revenue was up 9.2% for Valves, 8.4% for Pumps and 6.4% in the Service segment. Revenue in Asia, North and South America and Europe was higher than last year, with Africa/Middle East the only region down year on year, due to currencyrelated factors. KSB’s EBIT in the first nine months of 2019 was also significantly up on 2018. For further information, visit www.ksb.com
