Pump Industry Awards 2006 The 2006 Pump Industry Awards, in association with BPMA and World Pumps, have been re-launched to bring together the entire pump industry in a celebration of high-achieving companies, innovations and people. The Pump Industry Awards are designed to promote best practice in key areas of manufacture and supply including innovation and achievement, energy saving, sales growth, customer care and employee motivation. An overall winner will also be presented with a special award for truly outstanding accomplishments over the 05/06 period. The BPMA are calling for entries from companies in the following award categories, for achievements which took place or were completed during 2005/06. The judging panel will be looking for evidence of genuine excellence, both measurable and memorable, and for guidance notes and an entry form, please email tfrankel@ datateam.co.uk. Entry is free, so if you work for or know of, an organisation that has enjoyed some successes over the past 18 months, we look forward to hearing from you. The deadline for all submissions is Friday 28 April 2006.

Award categories Technical Innovation of the Year, sponsored by Weg is awarded for the most innovative pump, pumping system or other pump related product (new or redeveloped) with effectiveness being demonstrated via application details. Entries will be required to demonstrate: • Innovation • Application details • Use/relevance of the product • Product success. Environmental/Energy Saving Award, sponsored by Flowserve is awarded for the pump product, system or service, which has made a significant contribution to environmental issues, such as energy savings,

emissions control, noise reduction or life cycle costs. Entries will be required to demonstrate: • That the product is environmentally/energyfriendly) • Application details • Use /relevance of the product • Product success. Manufacturer of the Year, sponsored by World Pumps is awarded to the pump manufacturer who has achieved recognition from contractors or final end users of pump products for their services in areas such as technical expertise and advice, customisation of special needs, clarity of all documentation, ontime delivery and after sales service. Entries will be required to demonstrate: • Technical expertise and experience • Manufacturing capabilities (machining, assembly, testing, repair etc) • Customer/contractor recog nition (references) • Customer service programme (is there a programme? If so what is it?). Distributor of the Year, sponsor TBC is awarded to the pump distributor who has achieved recognition from either the pump sector or final end user for their services to industry in areas such as technical ability and advice, customisation of special needs, market penetration and growth and on time delivery and service. Entries will be required to demonstrate: • Technical expertise and experience • Manufacturing capabilities (design, machining, assembly, testing, repair etc.) • Customer/contractor/pump industry recognition (references) • Customer service programme (is there a programme? If so what is it?)

Supplier of the Year, sponsor TBC, is awarded to a supplier within the pump industry that has demonstrated consistently high levels of technical innovation and developments, environmental awareness, customer service and satisfaction, market penetration and growth. Entries will be required to demonstrate: • Technical innovation (any new innovative products?) • Environmental awareness (eco-friendly) • Customer/pump industry recognition (references) • Market penetration and growth (not necessarily largest in sector but able to demonstrate success). Young Pump Engineer of the Year, sponsored by John Crane is awarded to a young pump engineer who has made a positive contribution to an interesting product or project. Anyone who is 25 years of age or younger as of 1 January, 2006, is eligible to enter. Entries will be required to demonstrate: • The product/project/process • Successes achieved • Involvement of the candidate • Continuing competence. Pump Industry Overall Winner, sponsored by BPMA is awarded for outstanding contribution and achievement. The winner is chosen by the Pump Industry Awards judging panel for a truly outstanding entry within the awards programme. No nominations are sought for this category.

be received by no later than 5 pm on Friday 28 April 2006 with all supporting material arriving at the Datateam offices by Friday 5 May 2006 Entries will be judged by a panel of independent adjudicators The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into with respect to those decisions Category finalists will be promoted throughout August and September 2006 when the online voting facility will be available to your supporters All winners will be announced at the awards dinner on 17 October 2005.

The Awards Dinner Scheduled for the evening of 17 October and black tie in nature, guests at the Awards Dinner will enjoy a champagne reception, some great food and wine, an exciting awards ceremony and superb afterdinner entertainment. The BPMA hopes that you will join them for a glittering night of business and entertainment as the whole pump industry gathers together to celebrate our industry and mark the achievements of companies and individuals.
